British Formula Three - Croft Preview
Niall Quinn swaps A1 Team Ireland overalls for the colours of Team Loctite this weekend as the British Formula 3 circus heads to Croft.
Having produced a fourth and third place respectively from a trying first event in the series at Oulton Park a month ago, Quinn is looking forward to challenging for victory in the National Class of Britain's premier race series this weekend.
The Dunlop Motorsport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year lies third in the points list after the first event and believes that, despite missing testing with the team due to prior commitments elsewhere, he can be competitive in Yorkshire this weekend.
"Team Loctite have been working very hard to learn more about the Dallara F307-Mugen car in the last few weeks and the niggling teething problems that affected us in Oulton Park have been eliminated," says the 19-year-old.
"Now we can focus on extracting the pace from the machine and I'm looking forward to getting my teeth into a race weekend where we can focus on performance rather than reliability.
"The team are incredibly positive and it's a credit to them that we managed to get a couple of good results in Oulton. Hopefully with a good run in testing on Friday we can get a good start to the weekend and make the most of Saturday qualifying and race day Sunday."
Since the last event, the Dunboyne driver has been to China for the latest event in the A1 World Cup of Motorsport where his input in testing on Friday was an important contribution to an eventual third place in Sunday afternoon's Feature Race.
Following his race duties with Team Loctite this weekend he will be back in harness with A1 Team Ireland at the final event in the A1 World Cup at Brands Hatch on May 2nd
